How Annie's Acting Career Consultations Work

While every engagement is unique, there tends to be a general format that we follow here at Up-To-Date Actor for our acting career consultations. We break our consultations down into three parts.

Part 1 – Career & Marketing Materials Review

Upon agreeing to work together for acting career coaching, Annie will ask you to send over certain materials prior to the first meeting. This will help her learn more about you as an individual, as a talent, and about your career goals. It will also provide insight into where clients are in their own career paths and will indicate which (if any) changes need to be made along the way.

The materials Annie asks clients to send are:

  • Phone number
  • Headshots
  • Resume
  • Reels & Self-tapes
  • Actors Access Profile
  • Casting Networks Profile
  • Website (if one exists)
  • Agent representation information
  • Agent/Casting Director submission cover letter(s)
  • Career overview (as client sees fit)
  • Main performance career goal for upcoming calendar year
  • Secondary short-term goals to support main year-end acting career goal

Part 2 – One Hour One-on-One Virtual Consultation

Part two of this three-part package is the one-on-one virtual consultation. During your session, Annie will provide you with suggestions about your marketing materials, including what changes, if any, may be needed. She will also advise on which new materials need to be created to achieve your career goals.

Another component of this coaching session will be Annie outlining clear and specific next-step strategies to move your career forward in your area of focus. This will include stage and screen project suggestions that are a perfect fit for your unique talent. While on this call, you will have the chance to ask Annie acting career questions and for feedback on the materials you have provided.

At this stage, you will also be given one month of full-access trial membership to the Up-To-Date Actor, a 20% discount offer on paid future Up-To-Date Actor subscription, and total access to our new resources section, which includes:

  • Targeted agent/manager lists and referrals
  • Cover letter/resume samples
  • 13 essential marketing tools overview
  • Acting career coach and training resources
  • Actor reel production companies
  • …and more!

Part 3 – The Five-Day Follow-Up

After your one-on-one session, Annie will give you 5 consecutive business days of follow-up email collaboration with questions about what you discussed during your consultation, as well as a review of any homework materials she may have asked you to work on.

The Five-Day Follow-Up is one of the most important areas of Up-To-Date Actor’s 3-Part Consultation. Completing the homework and sending back updates for Annie to review is a critical next step for keeping the momentum moving forward and taking your acting career to the next level.

Additional Consultations

Should you require additional support or want to continue to work with Annie for one-on-one acting career coaching, there is also the option to sign up for ongoing 1-hour consultations. This is available to returning clients who have been active with Up-To-Date Actor and our services within a 6-month period. After a 6-month period of inactivity, you will be considered a new client.

Ongoing acting career coaching services include:

  • A review of marketing materials (must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to session).
  • Access to the resource section on UTDA.
  • 3 business days of email follow-up availability, with feedback on information outlined during the consultation. This is an abbreviated version of the Five-Day Follow-Up.
